We’ve all seen them.. car ads where they take “average people” (actors) and ask them to look at a car with the branding removed and then have them guess what brand it is. BMW, Audi, Lexus, Acura, etc are the usual answers.
It’s amazing how many actors have never actually looked at a car and don’t recognize styling. The cars are clearly one brand or another since the car looks like every other car made by the same company.
The other annoying set of ads are when the ads have people sit in the car on the showroom floor and go on-and-on about how wonderful the car is. Without driving it. Maybe I’m the odd guy, but I tend to look at the interior of the car for a rough idea of how I like it, but then take it out on the road and see how it drives. The greatest sound system and most cupholders aren’t much of a consolation prize if the car doesn’t drive well.
